Syd's New Look!

So, the other day I told Sydney I was sick of looking at her hair in a ponytail. Her long hair was pretty when it was straightened, but she doesn't like to take the time to dry it and straighten it because she has so much hair and it has a lot of curl so it takes forever. So she ends up just putting it in a ponytail every day. The other day I told her if she was just going to wear a ponytail we should cut her hair off so at least it would have some sort of style. At first she said no way, but the next thing I knew she said she wanted to cut it.

Luckily we had haircut appointments today so here is the before (it had, of course, been in a ponytail all day so the before really doesn't look good) . . . Syd had Mindy turn the chair away from the mirror so she wouldn't see it until it was completely finished.

And here is the after . . . (with Mindy, the girl that cuts our hair - thanks, Mindy!!!) She loves her new haircut and it looks super cute!

OK, so cute, so, so so cute, it looks so good, but having seen Syd's hair in real life, this seems like it is going to be a lot of work, a lot of flat ironing with all that thick hair, and unless Syd has taken on a new love for doing her own hair, that means a lot of work for you, but so cute.

So dang cute! I can't believe how grown up Syd looks. In my mind she is still 2, so I guess that would account for my surprise. The haircut is just beautiful. Okay, so I ran into someone else that knows you. Well, didn't really run into her, but she came to visit Sara...and Sara and I hang out all the time, so I hung out with this girl too. Her name is Ali. Hmm, a last name would really help. I know she lived close to Sara, friends of the Gillespie family, is about 21, and said she cheered for one year at Cottonwood. Totally cute girl and she said that she just LOVED STEPHANIE WYNDER, and told me I was so lucky to have you as a friend. Don't I know it! I had to tell her about our days in the "apartments" and our long talks on our porches, and how we made all our Christmas tree ornaments together, and how we used to borrow all of your movies. Good times for sure.
